My fandom is rarer than yours: beiderbeckefans for fans of the Beiderbecke trilogy by Alan Plater.
primevalest is a community for fans of the women characters and non-white characters in Primeval.

I don't have a friends policy except that I tend to see the lj "friends" feature as a reading list. If you're on my friends list then I'm almost certainly not reading your entire journal (e.g., I probably skip posts about the indisposition of your cat). If you're not on my friends list that doesn't mean I'm not reading your journal. I might even comment on your posts.
