In which there is guaranteed Harris Tweed
Harris Tweed always sounds to me as if it's the name of a character in a 1930s country house novel. I'd beg for commentfic but I don't have much reading time at the moment.

[info]chronographia will be pleased to know that I found some tweed but, alas, it was my grandfather's greatcoat and extremely moth-eaten... LITERALLY!!1!! I scanned the label, from the internal breast pocket, for your viewing pleasure. It has typography! And Hebridean crofters! And virginwools! IT'S LIKE THE WICKER MAN! The label stitching is rather wonky though. I blame Hepworths.

Guaranteed harris tweed

ETA: Harris Tweed, the nefarious pipe-smoking supervillain, is beginning to take shape. His lair is located in the ex-volcano Arthur's Seat under Edinburgh, his henchmen are called The Crofters, and he's a sometime employer of Mr Bach Vu (tag). His pipe exudes either poison or knockout gas while the mothballs are radio-controlled and fly out of Mr Tweed's pockets to assail his enemies. He's the arch nemesis of Velociman. I bet the Imperialist swine superhero is heroically trying to keep the Empire safe and at one while Harris Tweed, aka "Hebridean Harry", is plotting Scottish independence so he can make himself King and then unleash his army of robot haggis on the world!

I hereby admit that those silky sort of sewn in labels are among my private list of Favorite Things. They're a little bit magic, and I love the smell of old wool -- it reminds me of being small and surrounded by snuggly things.

Those labels struck me as being rather spectacular examples of the sort. I think it's the typography.

I love the smell of lanolin and sheep generally because it reminds me of... sheep! ;-)

I think Harris Tweed could be a superhero name. I'm not sure what his power would be, though.

Insouciance? And pipe-smoking. The fumes from his pipe probably knock out his enemies at 40 paces. Can he be a supervillain instead of a hero though? Plz plz pretteh plz?

And he will contract out to Mr. Bach Vu, which eventually brings down the wroth of Velicoman!

And! And! And!

And at this point I'm abusing the exclamation point! I don't actually have anything to add to that injoke.

I also propose that he has an arm of burly henchmen known as "The Crofters" who do his dirty work.

Do the Hebrides have dormant volcanos suitable for a secret fortress?

Every supervillain should have henchmen for the superhero's sidekick to fight and The Crofters would be perfect.

The big hill, Arthur's Seat, under Edinburgh is an ex-volcano, which is ideal because I suspect Mr Tweed of being an urbane urban sort of supervillain.

I'm sure that can be arranged.

I thought you'd appreciate them for the somewhat OTT objects they are.
